for Children and Young People
Aged 5-25 years old
Personalised attention for your child's needs
Perhaps you have noticed your child is down or anxious?
Maybe you've noticed behaviour changes and aren't sure what to do?
Whatever your child's needs may be, I am here to offer support. Therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery, and in my sessions I promote behavioral transformation by encouraging a positive outlook and the adoption of new attitudes and reactions. I have the tools and professional experience to help them get back on track.
Hello, I'm Sammi
I work with children and young people up to 25 years of age, to achieve healthier relationships, an improved sense of self and to cope better with distress. I can help your child and your family with a wide range of problems including anxiety, depression, and trauma. I can help your child lead the life they deserve, paving the way for a healthier and more fulfilled family life.
I use a combination of counselling, psychoeducation, coping skills, challenge, and interpersonal support to achieve positive outcomes.
Why do I work up to the age of 25?
The NHS Long Term Plan for children's mental health services, highlighted the need to better support the transition from children's mental health services to adult mental health services. There is a need for intermediate care for 18-25 year olds as you transition into adulthood, whilst maintaining the quality of mental health support.
I work with you up to the day before your 26th birthday. That way your support does not end because you become a legal adult. I can stay with you throughout the turbulent time of young adulthood. Your care and support remains until you no longer want or need the support, or you turn 26.
All we want as parents, is for our children to be happy, safe and resilient. But what happens if they are not? What if your child struggles to make sense of their emotions, or they struggle to achieve at school?
There are a magnitude of reasons why our children's behaviours change; for example bullying, death of a loved one or a traumatic experience.
I work one-to-one with a child, usually at their school, providing a focus on the child's mental and emotional wellbeing to build up strength, resiliency and a coping skills repertoire.
